I founded The Poppyseed Bakery in 2009. After thirteen years in a business environment, I decided I wanted to live a more creative life and, after taking some time off, began baking for my local Country Market. This was so successful that I began taking orders for birthday cakes and boxes of treats for new mothers. I soon realised that baking had always been my passion, and after experimenting with different ideas decided to start my own business.


My Philosophy


It’s simple - I love making delicious and beautiful cakes for others to enjoy.  To ensure they are delicious I only ever use free range eggs, unsalted butter and where relevant 70% cocoa dark chocolate and Madagascan vanilla extract.
